The Levi's Photo Workshop

The Levi’s® Workshops are a series of community-based venues for collaboration and creative production. Each Workshop is based on a different communications craft, but the concept stays the same: invite people to access our resources and expand on their important work. We launched with a two-month print shop in San Francisco during the summer of 2010. Our calendar was full of events that celebrated the values of craft and community. On October 7, 2010, we opened the Levi's Photo Workshop in New York City. Our photographic resources offer a lens to focus in on exciting activity in and around the city. We collaborate with individuals and organizations, and use photography to distill something essential about the work they do.

As one of the original purveyors of American work wear, Levi’s has a longstanding commitment to the American frontier. These efforts at the Workshop celebrate that pioneering spirit and inspire communities across the nation to engage in creative collaboration for the common good.

New York is steeped in photographic history. Will you become a part of it?

The Levi's® Photo Workshop is a temporary public facility that features a professional-grade production studio, vintage camera rental, digital design stations, exciting printing equipment, and a shop full of bits and bobs to keep you shooting in style. Although there are some important local pioneers collaborating here, these resources are really for everyone. So, whether you're a point-and-shooter, a trained professional, or somewhere in between, you are always welcome to visit and develop your craft... or your film!
